NERIM represents the culmination of more than three decades of dedicated service to higher education in the North-Eastern region of India. Its journey began in 1992 with the establishment of the NERIM Educational Society, and it has since grown into one of the region's pioneering self-financing institutions, widely recognised for its excellence in Management education and allied disciplines.
In recognition of this legacy, the Government of Assam enacted the NERIM University Act, 2025, officially establishing NERIM University in January 2026 under the Assam Private Universities Act, 2007 — a new chapter in NERIM's three-decade journey toward educational excellence.
